Animal Dingbats / Animal Alphabet / mental health design
Each of these 26 animal drawings represents a letter of the Roman alphabet, A-Z, and so it could be used as a cryptic font. Or as mini illustrations. Read on to find out more and for where to download!
As you can see, I mostly went for familiar animals but I also threw in some niche ones. Scroll down if you’d like to see where I listed all the animals below. (Did I tell you I love guessing games?!)
While I love drawing, there’s actually also a mental health reason behind the creation of my dingbats. (What are dingbats?)
When I am feeling anxious or depressed, I have some coping mechanisms and one of them is going through the alphabet thinking of a theme or category. One time I decided to draw animals. Back in the mid 2000s, I designed a crocodile font.
Sadly, a certain famous font site didn’t accept this, so I decided to make them available on my own website.. You can download it here!
To create this, I used a font making website called calligraphr. With the free option you can work on one font at a time. I got so into it, I was working on several! Artists told me there are some other sites around too.
