YouTube Live Invite (Transcript)
LINK TO BOOK
Hello! I'm going to be doing my first ever YouTube live on Thursday 8th April and it would be amazing if you could join us. It's going to be with Chinese Arts Now on their YouTube Channel and I'm really excited about it.
There's going to be a discussion about my album, “Welcome to The Mollusc Dimension”. And I'm going to be showing you some new little previews from this album as well which have basically probably never been seen before.
I'm going to be talking to Shaven Raven Designs and also Tuyet from Chinese Arts Now. Yeah! It's going to be a one-off event, and it's free to attend. It's a really big deal for me actually. It's going to be the first time I'm going to have the chance to have an in-depth sort of discussion about my work, and I'm also going to be reading some poetry. And it will be a chance for you to find out more about how and why I create as well.
That's the main gist of it. I'm going to also talk a bit more about it for people who like details.
At the beginning, on Thursday, I'm going to be showing some new crafted video visions of music from “Welcome to The Mollusc Dimension”. It's going to be .. let me see see if I can pronounce this, a phantasmorg-sensory DIY art or a moodboard to help a potential film-maker take a walk through my mind! Then I'm going to be talking to Urie Jo (she/they) from Shaven Raven Designs, who features as a voice artist on the quirky samples from my album, and also designed the beautiful packaging for the CD, which I never told anyone about really after I released it, because I'm trans, and trans people don't trust the media!
And the second half of the hour on Thursday, we're going to be talking about new directions. And before that, I'm actually going to be sharing a new poem about bereavement, about losing my dad in [a] traumatic bereavement. And for various reasons, I haven't really talked about this on social media, yet. But I would like to, and I've actually written a lot of poetry about that. And [I'll be] sharing another poem.
Yeah, and following these readings, I'm very pleased to be moving into a vibrant flow of recent and fresh ideas, including a new music project about being Asian and emotional authenticity. I'll be looking for collaboration and supporters, and I want to make a music video after making this track. I want to see Asians, and QTIBIPOC, and BIPOC, and also allies. And I'll be talking more about this on Thursday!
So if you want to click on the link in my bio, it will take you to my website. Basically the first thing on there is a link to book for this event. So it will be really awesome to see you there! Thank you very much!
