The “Impact of Omission” Petition & Survey has benefits for people of ALL races
Were you taught about British Colonisation at school?
Like most people, I am deeply shocked and saddened not just by the recent audacity of state-sanctioned violent racist incidents, and the news that covid-19 is affecting BAME people more, but also the vigorous and numerous denials of racism from authorities in the US and the UK.
Please Join over 182,000 people including me in Ensuring Britain’s Colonial Past is Taught in Schools! Sign the petition. Fill the survey.
It takes less than 10 minutes and could make a big difference. Honest education will benefit ALL races – including white people!

Please take a few minutes to fill it in, and share it with your friends, family and other contacts!
I’M WHITE / FINE - why does this concern me?
Together with other artists and teachers, I would like to raise awareness of Britain's Colonial History. No one is born prejudiced. Discrimination stems from fear and ignorance, which springs both from teachings as well as erased histories. Discrimination affects decision-making on national policies from healthcare to housing, and affect many, many white people as well as non-white people.
Filling in this survey really made me think about how I have no memories of covering British Colonisation at school! As a non-white person born and raised in the UK, I have experienced racism throughout my life, and I believe that just as people can learn that the earth is not flat, students can and need to learn about Britain's colonial past to put an end to hate crimes and plant the seeds of EMPATHY in future generations.
